Press release: Resolution On The Edo National Conference (Conference Call)

This resolution is a compilation of both the conference call and the media chat on the Edo national conference held in Barcelona, Spain. 20 December 2014. In collaboration with dedicated members of the Edo people movement for the restoration of the Edo Nation Sovereign on facebook.

  • Name of Country: Name of the country shall be “Edo Nation”

  • The Constitution: Edo Nation Shall adopt the Midwestern Constitution, respect to constitutional monarchy with some amendments in territorial boundaries and exclusion of unwilling ethnic group in the region to join the United Nation of Edo

  • The National Flag shall take blue, red, white and green colour with the “Ada” and “Eben” at the centre. The current coat of armstagged with “Justice, Unity and Progress”. The Festac head shall be use as seal while the old Benin kingdom flag be adopted for the Edo Marine, Military and the Police

  • Fund: fund shall be raise through donations, sponsors, sales of conference booklets, conference fees, sales of materials and organising competitions and programs. Diasporas can donate through pay pal on the official website or pay in into Edo national organisation account in Nigeria.

  • Language: Edo language (the centre Benin Language) shall be taught and adopted in all the regions with regional dialects as second language.

  • Government: Constitutional Monarchy like the one operated in Britain. Prime minister shall be from zoning with two party political systems. Role of the crown and all the dukedoms in all the regions properly define in the National constitution.

  • Geography: The boundary line shall be the Mid-Western Region of Nigeria from 1963 to 1991 that also became known in 1976 as the Bendel state. Formed in June 1963 from Benin and Delta provinces of the Western Region, capital Benin City, except for that ethnic group not willing to join the union. Capital City shall remain Benin City.
